India’s Amity University to offer 20 degree choices when it opens in Sept

DUBAI: Amity University, one of the leading private universities in India, announced on Monday the opening of its regional campus at Dubai International Academic City (DIAC).

Amity University in Dubai will open its doors to students in September this year and offer bachelor and master degree programmes in nuclear science, aerospace engineering, solar and alternative energy, transport and logistics, banking and insurance and hospitality administration.

According to Atul Chauhan, chancellor, Amity University, “Amity has a great commitment to the region and will offer over 20 career-focused degree programmes with a strong emphasis on research and collaboration with the respective industries.”

He added, “125 scholarships have been created for Emirati students as well as meritorious candidates.”

“Amity has done a detailed analysis of the core focus areas as per the strategy and vision of Dubai and identified the sectors that will demand trained manpower in the future,” Chauhan noted.

Part of the Amity Group with 23 campuses, the university boasts four universities and five international branches across London, Singapore, New York, California and Mauritius. It is home to over 80,000 students.

Amity’s 3,500 strong faculty comprising scientists, professors, researchers and industry professionals have also been credited with filing the highest number of patents by any university in India.
