CBSE devises novel plan to curb mark sheet forgery, launches ‘result bank’

India’s largest school education board, CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), has launched a result depository which will allow anyone to check the authenticity of a candidate’s mark sheet.
Any user who is registered with the board can log on tohttp://www.ndml.in, type the roll number and the password of a CBSE candidate, and access the mark sheet and certificate. Apart from the certificates of the class XII examination, the depository will also have the certificates of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The government believes that the decision will go a long way in curbing mark sheet forgery cases.
The depository has been launched in collaboration with the National Securities Depository Limited and the Central Depository Services (India) Limited.
“Students who have passed Class XII or CTET will be able to download their certificates from the depository. Employers can verify the hard copy of the certificates with the website,” said CBSE chairman Vineet Joshi, according to the Kolkata edition of The Telegraph.
The plan is expected to be of great help to the Human Resource Development Ministry which has been assigned the task of maintaining an online database of certificates of all boards and universities.
