Bhubaneswar: Election for different college student Unions in Orissa will be held on September 29. Students of all the govt. and non govt. colleges will go for voting on the same day.
As per the govt. notification of state Higher Education department. Colleges will notify for Student Union Election on September 20. Nomination paper can be filed in between 9 AM to 12 M on September 22. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on the same day afternoon from 2 to 4 PM.
List of valid nomination papers will be published at 11 AM on September 23. On the same day from 2 to 4 PM students can withdraw their nomination papers if they want. Final list of candidates will be published at 5 PM.
Candidates will justify and seek vote for them in “why I stand for” meeting to be held on Sept. 28 where every candidate will be given equal opportunity to speak for.
Voting will be held on Sept 29 from 8 AM to 2PM.. Immediately after voting counting will be done and results will be published and notified in the same evening. Elected candidates will take oath on September 30.
College attendance, Lyngdoh Commission recommendations will be strictly followed in the college election, said an official of higher education dept. official.
