Mission10X, Wipro's not-for-profit trust, completed 4 years of its mission – empowering over 16,000 faculty members from more than 1000 engineering colleges in India covering 24 states and union territories. To mark the occasion, on Teacher's day, Monday, September 5th, Mission10X organized "Together in Change"- an online event that was live on the web. Mission10Xians from different parts of the country and partners from across the globe participated in this event. At the same time on Sep 5th between 11:30 and 13:00 hours thousands of participants across 300 towns in India went live and together took the "teachers' day" pledge to help transform Engineering education in India making it a unique mega virtual event.
Mr. Pratik Kumar, Executive Vice President - Human Resources, Wipro said, "We embarked on Mission10X, a not for profit initiative after necessary research to bring a systemic change in the employability landscape across India. With the support of Academia, over the last 4 years, it has gained momentum across the Engineering Education space. We are happy to see enthusiastic participation from the Mission10X community across the country in today's virtual event while reaffirming their commitment towards pursuit of excellence in engineering education."
With its vision of employability skills enhancement, Mission10X was formally launched by Wipro Chairman Azim Premji in the presence of leading Academicians on Teachers Day, September 5 2007. Mission10X reaches out to students through empowered teachers who practice Mission10X learning Approach. Based on the inspiration from Mission10X, many noteworthy innovations are now practiced by the faculty members in the classrooms. The community of Mission10Xians has created over 7000 innovative learning assets across various Engineering disciplines which are hosted in www.mission10x.com. NASSCOM [National association of Software and Service Companies (India)], the IT industry association, has partnered with Mission10X recently to adapt Mission10X methodology as the backbone of pedagogy across its IT industry members.
