Next Education bags Best Digital Multimedia Content award

Next Education India Pvt. Ltd., India's fastest growing e-learning enterprise offering creative ICT solutions, bagged the Wisitex Shiksha Ratna Award for “Best Digital Multimedia Content – K-12 Segment” at the India eLearning Summit 2011 held in Mumbai recently.

The award was presented by Maharashtra Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Rajesh Tope at the inaugural ceremony of the summit at Y. B. Chavan Auditorium at Nariman Point in Mumbai. The award was received by  Sachin Dhakate, AVP, Next Education India Pvt. Ltd., on behalf of the organisation. The other contenders for the award included companies such as Educomp, Edurite and HCL.

Delighted at receiving the award, Next Education CEO,  Beas Dev Ralhan said, “This award is a recognition for the extensive research, careful design, and untiring effort that has gone into creating each and every learning module of Next Education. 

We recognise the importance of customisation required in India, and so conducted an extensive research for three years to understand the needs of the education industry, child psychology and competitive scenario to develop appropriate solutions for the industry. Every module is created by the in-house content development team, and has been designed using contemporary learning design principles. Each module undergoes rigorous testing on and off the field.”

“India, like any other knowledge economy, depends on the development of its education sector. Due to the support of information and communication technology (ICT), imparting education ‘anywhere and everywhere’ has been simplified,”  Ralhan pointed out. Asserting that the use of ICT had fundamentally changed the education sector in India in the last 20 years, students and institutions nowadays prefer to use modern tools of ICT such as eLearning, online practice of learning, and searching for information. The use of ICT solutions in India requires a lot of understanding of the social, economic and cultural aspects of the Indian people, he added.

‘India-e-2011 Summit’ was organised by DOEACC Society-an autonomous body of the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. The key objective was to promote empowerment of masses through ICT and eLearning.

Renowned personalities among those who attended the summit were Union Ministers of State for Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot and Milind Deora, and IGNOU Vice Chancellor V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai.
