The State Government was giving emphasis on quality education and making efforts to raise student-teacher ratio to desirable level . Chief Minister Naveen Pattanik said about 17,000 contractual teachers would be registered this year . The Government will appoint 20,000 elementary teachers and 3,500 secondary teachers this year .
Reacting to ongoing agitation by the block grant teachers association Chief Minister said chief secretary heading a high –level committee to look into all these matters and hopefully a decision with this regard would be out shortly.
