Bhubaneswar: Inaugurating the 23rd Annual Management Education Convention of the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) here on Friday, Governor M C Bhandare urged Business Schools to ensure high ethical standards among the students. The Regional College of Management (Autonomous) has organised the two-day convention on Emerging Paradigms in Management Education.
Stressing on the fact that in the prevailing situation it is just not possible for any business entity to ignore ethical considerations, Bhandare said that the need of the hour is probity, accountability and transparency in all actions.
He also said the shift from an industrial society to a knowledge-based society has quickly blurred the gender and other social divides, which is a welcome development.
Guest of honor Dr Santrupt Mishra, Group HR Head of Aditya Birla Management, pointed out that the current curriculum of the B Schools are highly skewed towards large businesses while a large part of the GDP of the country is contributed by the small and medium sectors.
He suggested a three-R guideline- Relevance, Rigour and Result for the institutes to evaluate their effectiveness.
He received the Prof Ravi Mathai award from AIMS president Dr Prabir Pal.
Established in 1988, the AIMS has more than 600 institutes as its members out of over 4,000 such institutions in the country.
