The activists of the All India Council of Imams of Mosques (AICIM) and the Bihar Urdu Journalist Forum staged a dharna against the alleged spiraling corruption in the Bihar State Madrassa Education Board and submitted a memorandum to the governor.
Forum president Ashraf Asthanvi said that he has been consistently drawing the attention of the state government towards the corruption and mismanagement in the Board, but to no avail. He alleged malpractices in holding examination of various degrees. "The government is claiming to champion the cause of anti-corruption and suggesting ways to check it, but it is least bothered to check rampant corruption in its own institutions," Asthanvi alleged.
AICIM state president Maulana Sajjad Nadvi said that the Board in its 35 years of existence was passing through very critical period and the future of Madrassa students was threatened.
