CBSE Class X results: Girls retain trend; lead again

The wait is over for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students who gave class tenth exams this year. The CBSE declared the results for Ajmer, Panchkula, and Allahabad regions on Wednesday.
For the first time CBSE gave students the option to decide whether they want to appear for the board exams or not. Students not taking board exams will then have to appear for the school based tests.
CBSE has also introduced grading system in class X from this year where students received grades from A1 to E2. Students scoring percentage between 91and 100 got grade A1, while those scoring between 81and 90 received A2. The total number of candidates who appeared for the class Xth exams from Ajmer was 1,02,155, out of which 1,01.247 cleared the exam.
This year, the overall result for Ajmer region has been 99.11%as compared to last year's 94%. Interestingly this time too the girls outshone the boys, as 99.11% of the former cleared the examination against 98.87% of the boys.
However, the number of boys who appeared for the examination was higher than that of the girls—62,430 boys and 39,725 girls had appeared for the examination from Ajmer region. Few schools witnessed 100% result. Udgam School of the city got 100% result, with 12 students scoring A1.
The public relation officer and advocacy of Delhi Public School (DPS), Pradip Chudasama said his school got 100% result and produced 37 A1 grade students.
