Consortium of Management Education (COME) commences CAP rounds for AICTE approved B-Schools

Consortium of Management Education (COME), a collaboration of 52 Business schools in Maharashtra, has announced the commencement of Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for all its member institutes. Candidates have already started registering themselves through the website http://www.comeassociation.org/index.htm since the 2nd of June 2011. The CAP is an initiative by COME to make the admission procedure easier, and without any hassles of long queues or tedious procedures. This initiative will save a lot of costs for the students, as they will not have to buy multiple admission forms from multiple institutes. This is a first of its kind initiative in the country that has been taken by a group of management institutions.
Students who do not have any scores of CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ ATMA/ JMET/ MHCET/ any state level Test are also eligible to apply. They have to take up the CET which is scheduled on July 10, 2011 by COME. The written test will be followed by GD and PI on the same day at various centers in Mumbai and Pune. The deadline for application for the CET is July 08, 2011 and results will be announced by July 15, 2011.
COME is a premier alliance of 52 unaided private institutions united to reach out to students in each part of the country and provide them a uniform platform to pursue quality management education. Historically, the member institutes have witnessed many students from Mumbai suburbs, especially from Thane district enrolling with them for various full-time management courses. COME not only makes the admission process easy for the student but also provides them with the best of the colleges which inculcate AICTE approved courses in their curriculum.

COME has a common admission procedure where the student can also apply to COME institutes through their CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, JMET, MHCET, respective state level CET scores. After applying to COME, the student has to appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview round which will be held from 8.06.11 to 28.06.11 at Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nasik, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Indore, Jaipur. The CAP rounds of COME will be applicable for 25 of its member institutes. The Final Merit List will be displayed on June 30.
Speaking on the commencement of admission procedure (Dr. Apoorva Palkar, Executive President of COME), said, “COME has come together to provide the students with optimum resource to pursue higher management education. In 2008 the National Knowledge Commission had foreseen India will require 3, 00,000 employable graduates in the next 10-15 years. There is a national concern for the shortage of skilled manpower in India. This is the issue we wish to address and hence would like to do our bit by providing students an easy access to colleges as well as AICTE approved syllabus.”
