Better education hope for Muslims

A delegation of the American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) on Sunday met Ranchi University vice-chancellor A A Khan and Kolhan University deputy registrar S S Akhtar, discussing with them the possibility of improving the education scenario of the minority community and the support of the local intellectuals for the body's annual convention here in December.
The federation has members from both the US and Canada and it is supporting education among the community in India since 1989. It helps build schools, hospitals and computer centres.
Talking to newsmen about their future plan for Jharkhand, AFMI founder and trustee A S Nakadar, a consulting cardiologist in the US since 1973, said the federation wanted to increase its activities in the state in future. Nakadar headed the delegation that met the varsity officials.
