The students seeking admission in engineering colleges in Gujarat shall have to wait some more for their dream to come true. TheAdmission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) has postponed admission into these colleges for 10 days.
The postponement is the result of the recent decision of the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) to lower the minimum percentage required for admission in engineering courses to 45 per cent. This decision effectively expunged AICTE's earlier decision to upgrade minimum percentage required to 55.
A notification on this correction of minimum requirement has been issued in this regard by the state government. "All the 5700 students of Gujarat, who are eligible under the 45 per cent criteria, will be allowed to fill up and submit application forms from Tuesday till July 8. The the first consolidated merit list will be out on July 10, and the final list for admission will be declared on July 19.
