Jamia Millia Islamia announces with great pride and pleasure that one of its students, Ms. Parul Goswami, a student of MA Final Year (Convergent Journalism) course at AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) has been selected in the 'Indian Universities Tennis Team' which is going to represent India in the upcoming World Universiade to be held in China.
The World Universiade is being held in Shenzen, China from August 12 to 23, 2011 in which 118 Asian countries are participating in 24 different sports. There will be 24 sports and 306 events in the Shenzhen Universiade.
Universiade, often called the 'Little Olympics' is a sports event which is hosted by the Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire. Only university students and students who have graduated from a university in the last two years (between the age group of 17 and 28) are allowed to take part in it.
