Dainik Bhaskar education meet on June 11

The National Education Summit 2011 organised by Dainik Bhaskar will be inaugurated by minister for human resource development Kapil Sibal on June 11.
The summit will discuss ways to bridge the quality gap and look at the emerging challenges in education sector.
This day-long event is organised at the Oberoi hotel, New Delhi. Ramesh Chandra Agrawal, chairman of Dainik Bhaskar group will also be present at the summit.
The summit will also see Dr Narendra Jadav, member of Planning Commission and NAC talking on the need to shift mindset in managing business schools. Dr Bibek Bannerjee, Director of Institute of Management and Technology, will speak on the creation an Indian B-School brand.
Irina Ghose, director of Education Advocacy at Microsoft Corporation (India), will make a presentation on the role of technology in imparting world class education. Prof VN Rakshekaran Pillai, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University, will also address the summit.
There will be a discussion on the challenges business schools face today. This panel will consist of professor Deepak Chandra, deputy dean of ISB Hyderabad; professor Trilochan Sastry, dean (Academics) at IIM Bangalore; professor Raj S Dhankar dean FMS Delhi. The panel will include S Varadrajan EVP and CHRO at Quatrro.
The second session will be on ‘working towards bridging the quality gap’. There will be presentations by MDI Gurgaon Director Prof VK Gupta; educational consultant Ajit K Motwani, Dr S Ranganathan, Director of ASMA Institute of Management, Pune; Director Ajay Kapur of Oracle Education Initiatives and Swati Majumdar Director of Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning.
In the third session the role of Centre in creating synergies for managing-schools will be discussed. The panel comprises Vibha Puri, Secretary Department of Higher Education, HRD ministry; Prof Mantha, acting Chairman of AICTE; Prof Sudhir Jain Head of Dept of Management Studies at IIT Delhi and Dilip Chenoy CEO and MD of National Skill Development Corporation.
Kris Srikkanth, former Indian cricket captain, will give concluding remarks. Prof VN Rajasekharan PIllai will deliver the valedictory note.
