Orissa: Families displaced by Upper Kolab Power project once again reorganized


Koraput: More than two thousand people those who have been displaced by Upper Kolab Power and irrigation project demanded the Government to fulfill five charter of demands which includes the employment one from each displaced family, health and education facilities to those who have been displaced, land to the land construction of housing colony and payment of compensation at the present market rate with interest from the date of acquiring land for the project and displacement.
If the Government fails to fulfill their demands before November 8th 2011 they have decided to go for an agitation against the Government. The meeting was held near Hanuman Temple at Kolab Chhak near NH26 on Saturday last. The meeting was  presided by Mr. Subash Patnaik secretary of the Upper Kolab Power Project Displaced Association. The families those who have been displaced 33 years ago by Kolab Power Project.
